Want to be motivated? Sanctified?

Just watch this!

In a world desperate to remove the risk of trial and suffering at the expense of truly living, we should be reminded of the great value of adversity. Anybody can succeed in the absence of adversity. Doing so in the face of it is what makes something truly great. And it’s what can transform us into something truly great, also.

Every step taken in suffering is an opportunity to share in the sufferings of Christ. It’s an opportunity to be sanctified.

Thanks for posting this, Matthew. I’ll add more:

– Comedian Dave Chapelle was booed off the stage when he appeared on “amateur” night at the Apollo Theater as a young up-and-coming comic.

– An little-know governor of Arkansas, Bill Clinton, was booed and jeered at the 1988 Democratic Convention after the crowd grew weary of his long-winded speech.

– Edgar Allan Poe was kicked out of the military and had difficulty keeping jobs.

– Many TV and radio hosts I enjoy have been fired at least once in their career.
