		<description>I remember reading a detailed desciption from some of the eye-witnesses  of the miracle of the sun at Fatima on October 13. 

One of the most interesting parts is how muddy and dirty everyone was since it had been raining so hard that morning, and with the many thousands of people present the whole area was turned into a field of mud. Most remarkable however, was that right after the Miracle of the Sun, everyone was completely clean...the mud seemed to have disappered from their shoes and clothes. 

This &quot;cleansing&quot; of all the people was obviously not only a physical-material miracle, but also was a symbolic grace showing the power,  purity and intercession of our Blessed Mother on behalf of all peoples.

And, speaking of devotion to our Blessed Mother, here is an excellent article about the 20th century mystic St Gemma and her devotion to the Blessed Virgin:
