Great post! I stumbled onto this providentially (late) after:
1) Hearing Cardinal Arinze speak at the Christ Our Life conference in Des Moines, and
2) Being "encouraged" to stand through the Liturgy of the Eucharist after beginning to kneel at daily Mass while traveling last week.

Thanks Matt!

God has truly blessed us in giving us John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Cardinal Arinze to guide the Church in this difficult age.

Cardinal Arinze, you made my day. Nothing like humor to live a good life of commitment to God´s Law

I wish there were more people in our church like Cardinal Arinze. The Catholic church would be a better place in 2010

Our modern church (since the 1960's) has thrown out most of the traditions we Catholics value Confession is almost never discussed, kneeling in a church during the Consecration of the host, most of all the respect and the wonderful feelings that came with going to visit God

It has long been an opinion strongly held by traditionalists that salvation of this age would come out of Africa. Prelates such as the Cardinal make that very easy to believe.

Gotta love Cardinal Arinze! Hooray for the Apostolate for Family Consecration also. :D

My kids received first Holy Communion at the Traditional Latin Mass and only feel comfortable kneeling when receiving Communion. Needless to say, they have been reprimanded and forced to stand up by some Novus Ordo priests. There is much confusion and Cardinal Arinze always cuts straight through the nonsense--always balanced.

If we could crawl and prostrate ourselves, I would. Whatever shows the "most" reverance is what I will give, never the least. This doesn't make me the rubrics police, however. ;)

This is legit. Cardinal Arinze has it right. Mass is the highest form of prayer we can participate in, and we should worship God with our hearts during Holy Communion. Some people worship more fully in kneeling positions, and others while standing/sitting. Keeping it real is the way to go. Nice post.
