My Facebook Account Disabled

FYI – for those of you that read this blog via Facebook. You may have noticed that I’ve completely vanished from Facebook without a trace. Well, it’s not that I removed you from my friends or anything else! Apparently Facebook’s computerized security bots decided that I had too much activity on my account (I have over 2500 friends and use the site quite a bit) so somehow it flagged me and automatically disabled me. No warning at all.

They don’t even check to see if I was doing anything wrong. They just disabled me. One quick look at my profile would quite obviously reveal that I wasn’t doing anything inappropriate – I was just simply using their product!

I’ve sent a number of appeals to them and have not gotten anything in return. And I’m finding that this is, unfortunately, an increasingly common story for a lot of avid Facebook users. So I’m not sure if I’ll ever get my account back. However, I know Facebook is short staffed (on humans) and it’s still Monday (this happened over the weekend). I’m still a little hopeful, anyway.

In a way, it’s been a bit of a relief as I’ve had the realization over the weekend that there is indeed life outside of Facebook. :-)

However, the flockNote Facebook Application runs from my account (it’s throwing errors now) and I have a number of other professional and personal relationships on there that are very important to me. So I’d appreciate it if they gave it back! Time will tell.

I also got to interact and talk with many of you on there as well since it was a very convenient way to do so. I hope we can do so again in the near future. If you feel so inspired – you can send a quick email to for me to just simply ask them to re-enable Matthew Warner’s account. Maybe that will get their attention.

In the meantime, if you haven’t done so, please subscribe to Fallible Blogma in some other way (flockNote, RSS, Twitter, Email, etc.). Just use the graphical links at the top right of the blog here to do so. Thank you all and God bless you!

They take friends off my friends list and then put them back on a couple of weeks later. My family says they never took me off and they don’t know what happened. I’ll send them an email to re-enable your account. Hopefully you get it back up and running soon.

shikha August 17, 2010 at 8:39 am

how long will it take to get it undisabled?

John Brown February 16, 2009 at 5:47 pm

apparently the way to do this is to set up a “fan page” for your fans to join. that keeps your “friends” who are really just fans of your blog from overwhelming your personal facebook page.

Matthew Warner February 16, 2009 at 6:22 pm

I hope you’re right, Micaela!

And John, I’ll have to try something different apparently if I ever get back on! But I still hadn’t gotten close to their “friend limit” of 5000. Just had too much activity somewhere I guess. But that is probably the route I’ll have to go in the future. Thanks!

my face book account has been disable i wanna get back my account plz say how can i do that?

Michelle February 24, 2009 at 9:46 am

Matt i have a request. you always put up amazing quotes on fallible blogma so i would like to know if you have any killer quotes that would work for a theme i’m doing for Confirmation. our theme is transformation. any ideas? i have thomas merton in mind or mother therese or st faustina or some other great catholic spiritual writer. i have read their books but just cannot think of any quotes dealing with my subject matter! thanks!

Matthew Warner February 24, 2009 at 4:38 pm

Michelle – that’s awesome! I used to have a great list of them but can’t find it at the moment. One that comes to mind I put as the quote of the day today here:

It’s a really good Confirmation one.

I will see if I can think of some more the rest of the week!

Mahibecks – I wish I had the answer! I still don’t have mine back and I haven’t heard a word from them. Pretty poor on Facebook’s part. I’m giving them a few more days before I give up. Good luck to you!

Caroline Koh February 24, 2009 at 8:03 pm

Thanks anyway (Sorry if my English is not good)

james March 10, 2009 at 4:50 am

you were removed for having two many friends, surely you don’t know 2500 people?

The terms state they can remove anyone for any reason whenever they want with or without notice. So there’s nout you can do

Matthew Warner March 10, 2009 at 7:23 am

Actually, that’s not true, James. I believe the limit on friends is 5000 currently. I was removed because of too much activity and because I had gotten too many friends too quickly.

They recently re-enabled my account once they realized that I wasn’t a spammer or doing anything malicious.

My account was disabled as well for this problem, I still haven’t heard back from them and I sent them numerous messages since my account was disabled on Monday, March 3. This is a pain in the ass for sure. I hope it gets fixed soon.

Sandro March 17, 2009 at 5:39 am

My facebook account has been disable without any reason or warning.
I email them many time (before disabling) asking the limits of email, posts, add friends and so on. No reply.

I’m emailing them asking explanation. I do believe the the only reason could be I added too many friends in one day.

Someone know how may I get account back?

Thanks in advance

jean March 31, 2009 at 3:44 am

Hi my account was disabled a week ago, i think it was because i was sending messages to friends asking it they would like to come to a charity night but not sure, I would like to know how long i will be disabled,

Eric February 18, 2010 at 12:30 pm

They saw it as spamming or harassing people.

Matthew Warner March 31, 2009 at 7:10 am

Hey all – sorry about your accounts! I know the feeling!

To answer your questions:

It took over 3 weeks to get my account back. So don’t lose hope…but be patient. They must be very back-logged when it comes to reviewing cases.

I don’t know how much emailing them over and over again and starting my own “Bring Matt Warner Back” Facebook group actually helped. Maybe it helped a lot. Maybe not at all. They are very ambiguous about it, and for understandable reasons.

I tried emailing to a number of different email addresses, but I don’t know what worked or if they even read them.

All I can say is maybe keep asking them every once in awhile, but not too often so you don’t annoy them. And then be patient. It might take weeks. And the way they are right now, I wouldn’t be surprised if it took months – for real. Hope that helps you!

nishanta gurung April 5, 2009 at 1:23 am

hey all..

yes indeed its really frustrating. mine account was disabled yesterday without any warning or message from the facebook team. i wrote a mail to them but they haven’t replied me yet. Don’t know why they disabled my account. there are so many family contact and friends contact which i cant afford to lose plus lots of album holding many memories. i guess to store photo in facebook and to rely entirely on them for communication is not advisable. i dont know what to do now???

Eric February 18, 2010 at 12:34 pm

They will respond in about three to five weeks. The reason is usually a form letter stating that you violated one or more group of terms like: too many friend requests, spamming, using a fake name or publishing false information. You might not have any of these things, but that is how Facebook is. At the rate that they are going, they will be out of business and off the Internet.

Travis Symonds April 10, 2009 at 11:30 pm

Well I have now joined the ranks of the “Disabled Account”.

I think I either had too many groups, or I posted on too many Mafia Wars Sites “Add Me” or even that I was adding friends (again for mafia wars) at an alarming rate.

Either way I have shot them off an email today, so hopefully I will hear back soon :(

Riz Nwosu April 14, 2009 at 2:30 pm

I had close to 5000 friends and I noticed my numbers dropped by 10 or sometimes 20 friends just like that overnight without me deleting anyone. Then Id get complaints from the deleted friends on why I deleted them. I think fb does this arbitrarily. Also my account has now been disabled for almost a month. I have just about given up all hope but I’m still holding on. Far stranger things have happened to me in the past. Facebook is really a law unto itself and there is nothing we can do because we are all merely tenants with no rights whatsoever.

why my facebook account is disabled? how can i open it?

redsweetevil April 21, 2009 at 7:35 pm

My account is still disabled. In my opinion, that’s caused because i was added too much friend. And i found on other sites that recommend me to send a mail to
I was sent mail to them, they replied with wrong answer.I had about 500 friends there, and i have to make a new account again.Facebook is really complicated and has a requirement about maximal friends,5000.However,i hope my account is back.

Jim April 29, 2009 at 4:53 pm

SO my FaceBook account was disabled – due to spamming. At first I thought there was no warning, but about 6 minutes before I was erased, there was an e-mail sent to my hotmail account, too bad wasn’t sent to my FaceBook inbox (surprsied they do not use their own system).

Anyway, I was responding to a lot of friend requests, resulting from Wall Posts I had made for Mafia Wars. It turns out that if the posts and replies are identical, or close, they consider it spamming – and you will be erased from FaceBook (temporarily hopefully).

I know of people who have added crazy amounts of people, but they do not cut and paste anything and change what they write each time… more personal and a lot slower! However, they are still on and I am not.

I am working on getting reinstated, will see how that process goes. I will definately change my strategy to be within their rules (figuring them out will be a challenge!)

So if you are adding a lot of people… make sure you are personalizing each response if you do that, and if you are posting on walls for Mafia Wars, change it up everytime, and have a cooling off period.

ALESSANDRO May 28, 2009 at 3:53 am

After a long time of observations about the warnings and the de-activations of Italian facebook accounts and interviews many facebook users, I realized there is a common line which join all the users de-activated (or under warning): World War.

World War is a game developed by 6waves, it is full of bugs (used heavily from Turkish) never completely solved. 6waves has no more the control of the game.

The developers of world war have ignored all the emails and reports sent by players to point out the “very strange activities” around the game (bugs, cheat mode, bot, etc.).

In the last period we have noted too many world war players has been deactivated, or being under warning.
We hav the answer. It’s related to a trick used by Turkish.
Some of them write continously (spam) in game chat (country conference) of a certain country, often using offensive words, as soon as the (honest) players of such country reply (or try to write in the turkish chat), at least five (or more) turkish players (just waiting for) immediately point out the unlucky player and the result is… DEACTIVATION (OR WARNING). Game over.
Despite of many report and email nothing has been done!
Check in your applications if you played worldwar, maybe, you got the answer about the deactivation. Send email to 6waves and facebook admins every day.

Margarita Flatt June 12, 2009 at 2:41 pm

For those of you that your accounts were disabled and then face book enabled them again….
How long did it take facebook to turn your account back on and did you lose any of your friends and pictures that you had on your site?

Michaelle Daceus June 16, 2009 at 9:00 pm

UNBELIEVABLE! This is a problem with FB disabling accounts of users with good intentions, when they should really target the bad guys spreading virus. I’m a Real Estate professional, who mainly uses the site for networking, but little did I know, I was next to join the group of “Disabled Victim” lol. Them promoting the site as a social networking, really defeats that overall purpose. They disabled my page 2weeks ago now and all I can think of is they did so, because THEY CAN! I merely had 1000 friends, added very few friends in the course of 5months, 90% I sent email invitations to. And, if my regular “Quote of the Day”, “Month Wisdom” and other positive vibes I try to spread, prompted them to disable my page, then surely they’ve got another problem!

Keep checking my page, in case they decide to come to their senses:
Name: Michaelle Daceus

Anne June 24, 2009 at 1:07 pm

Add me to the list of disabled facebook pages. I had less than 500 friends. I posted maybe a few times a day. Played a few of the games. Not a major user, but certainly everyday I chatted with friends… it is after all a social networking site, right?? My ID was real, I didn’t spam, no porn or profanity… there is absolutely no reason that I can think of that would violate their TOS. Grrr. I have repeatedly emailed them since June 16, trying to find out why and to see if my profile can be reinstated. I have received a few automated messages, but no real contact. I am so sad to have lost the contacts, interaction, etc…

Completely frustrated,

Yordan Kolev June 30, 2009 at 11:25 pm

My account was disabled too for adding many friends. (no clear definition anywhere for that term). I had about 600 friends. Facebook does not distinguish between sending friend requests and accepting them I guess. So far I’ve sent ten e-mails to Facebook with no response. It’s really frustrating!

Anne July 1, 2009 at 8:43 am

My facebook profile has been down for almost 3 weeks now. I have sent at least 3 emails each day to different facebook address: info@, disabled@ and… I have thus far received only 2 replies and those were to tell me to email from the address associated with the account. Because I accidentally sent a couple of emails from another address of mine. I don’t understand how they can answer those and not answer my others? I’ve been more than nice… explaining that I believe it to be a mistake, but that if I have done something wrong, tell me what and I would not do it again. My emails have been gracious and I’ve been careful to not blame. Still doesn’t help.

They did tell me to put the email address associated with the profile in the subject line with corresponding with them… but it does not seem to have helped.

roy October 4, 2009 at 1:06 am

have you got your account back?

Jessie Carty July 1, 2009 at 12:35 pm

Just got disabled because of phishing that was sent thru my account. I caught it all and fixed it like weeks ago and they just now disabled me with no warning so I was unable to tell my friends and all. *sigh*

I might just give it up.

Anne July 1, 2009 at 2:44 pm

Anne July 1, 2009 at 2:48 pm

I emailed everyday for almost 3 weeks… just got a message that I had been reactivated and they apologized for any inconvenience! YAY!!!

Ashiq July 10, 2010 at 5:58 am

what is the facebook e mail address you sent??

John Wright July 2, 2009 at 8:05 am

Hello Anne I am so glad you got your facebook back.

Did Facebook ever tell you something like this when your account was disabled:We will not be able to reactivate your account for any reason. This decision is final.

Anne July 2, 2009 at 8:31 am

John, no, I never got that message… after reading some of these posts, I did expect to get it, but all I received was this:

Your account has been reactivated and you should be able to access it now. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you have any further questions, please visit our Help Center at the following address:

When the page was disabled I received no messages at all. I emailed them daily asking them to go look at my page and promising to fix anything that they thought I had done to violate their TOS. I kept telling them that I was sure it had to be in error… I don’t know if that helped or not…

John Wright July 2, 2009 at 8:46 am

Thank you Anne.

I recieved a message like that but Do you know if they would reconsider their decision because they said it was permanent or I wouldn’t never ever be able to retrive my account.

Anne do you know if Facebook gives users a second chance?

John Wright July 2, 2009 at 8:51 am

I mean they never said it was permanent just their decision was final.

I think its a bit harsh due to the fact my blackberry was adding new friends without my knowledge.

Anne July 2, 2009 at 8:53 am

I really don’t know. I don’t know what got my page back… I read some advice from a guy online who got his page back after several weeks. He said he wrote often and was apologetic rather than mad and acusatory and that’s what I did. I told them that if I did something wrong I was sorry and very willing to fix… but the thing is, I still have no idea what I did… except that they might have thought that the page was used by 2 people… they did change my user name when they returned it. My nickname is the same as my husbands name, it’s been a source of great confusion among our friends! So perhaps that was what started this? I dunno. It could also have really been a mistake. I have a very benign page, with not too many friends and not a ton of activity… no questionable content at all. I really hope that you are able to get your page back. Have you been emailing them?

John Wright July 2, 2009 at 9:06 am

I sent about 49 emails already to Facebook dating from 29/06/2009 up to today I only recieved three replies.

The first one was the automatic response and the second one was the one stating We will not be able to reactivate your account for any reason. This decision is final.

The last one was saying I have reached the wrong department I should try other facebook email addresses.

I explained to facebook how I havent been able to keep in touch with family and friends from all over the world and also told them I wasn’t aware of my blackberry sending out friends requests also explained how did was my first offence and how i never abused or harrased other users on the site.

I only use facebook to catch up with friends and family also keep updated with the groups i joined i.e charities.

Looked up on the internet if anyone has ever got their account back after being told the decision is final but bearing in mind they did not say it was permanent or there was no chance of ever retriving my photos anything along them lines.

Sorry about the essay.

Kind Regards

Anne July 2, 2009 at 9:19 am

I feel for you. I was shocked, angry, saddened and a hundred other emotions when it happened to me. It took almost three weeks. Another guy said it took him 4. I don’t think I’d give up yet. I sent 3 a day, one to each of the 3 different email addresses that I mentioned before almost every day. I know how frustrating it is… every time I log on now, I keep expecting to get the disabled message… it’s very unnerving. It broke my addiction for sure. I’m working to get contact info from all my friends, just in case…

John Wright July 2, 2009 at 9:21 am

Anne did you get everything back?,i.e was your photos and friends still there when you got your account reactivated.

Anne July 2, 2009 at 9:27 am

I lost all the groups I belonged to and my business page seems to be gone. I think my photos are all there, but people who had tagged me in photos… those are no longer tagged. I was removed as admin of my own group page, though it was left up. I now have 4 admins on the page so I don’t lose it again. They opened it up to the public for a time and let any member admin the group. My friends, game scores, posts and other things seem to all be there. I’m not sure if my old posts are out there on other profiles… I know they were removed when my profile was disabled… actually, I think I recall seeing some older posts, so I think that was all restored.

roy October 4, 2009 at 1:20 am

did you get any message like this :

Please reply to this email to verify that you are the owner of the account that you referenced in your Facebook support inquiry. The Facebook Team

My account has been disabled for about 12 days now. The last message I received from then was the mail above and that was it. That was about a week back.

John Wright July 2, 2009 at 9:33 am

I keep getting told to start a new one but there is no way I will because i have built up a list of friends and family which is not much just 200 and also joined groups and have too many pictures on my current account(which has been disabled) so I shall keep on fighting for my account to return so i can keep in touch with old and new friends and family memebers(emailing facebook) for my account every day.

Anne July 2, 2009 at 9:45 am

I felt the same way. I did not want to start over… too much to lose. I just kept at them. I really wish you the best of luck!! I hope you get it back soon.

jhaye December 6, 2011 at 10:57 pm

anne please help me and share what you did to regain your account thankyou i hoping your answer

John Wright July 3, 2009 at 6:36 am

Update on my account: My local store whom i purchased my blackberry(which was faulty) have admitted they sold me a faulty blackberry and they will refund me.

So basically my facebook was disabled due to my blackberry sending out requests which i was unaware of.

The phone dealer have advised me to explain to Facebook about this situation but do you think Facebook will understand my predictment?

Jessie Carty July 3, 2009 at 6:57 am

Mine came back late yesterday.
All my photos were gone and mafia wars.
AH well, I’ve decided to just go in once a day and check on friends and family now

John Wright July 3, 2009 at 6:59 am

Jessie What about your friends and fan pages and groups you belong to are they still intact?

Jessie Carty July 3, 2009 at 7:21 am

My friends were there but my events were gone and I’m not sure about the groups and all, to tell you the truth that might be a good thing, I had too many!

John Wright July 3, 2009 at 7:29 am

Did Facebook ever say to you We will not be able to reactivate your account for any reason. This decision is final?

Jessie Carty July 3, 2009 at 7:36 am

I don’t think so…

John Wright July 3, 2009 at 10:05 am

Has anyone got their account back after facebook say This decision is final? which I don’t understand because it was a faulty Blackberry which I purchased has got me disabled.

Iyk dike August 19, 2009 at 12:10 am

Iyk dike August 19, 2009 at 12:16 am

Please i wish to be given a quick response.

Joanne Wolf August 20, 2009 at 4:32 pm

Mine was disabled on 8/14, and I can only assume it’s because I was answering inbox messages too quickly. This is ridiculous. Their customer service sucks. I just want my profile back!!! I’m so distraught. :(

peifang December 18, 2009 at 1:22 am

My FB account has been disable and FB will not respond to any of my emails. For the past 3 weeks I’ve sent them emails requesting to enable my account or provide a reason why my account was disable, I have not received any response from them. Is there anything we can do to make them respond to our email requests?
Please advice.

Here is the note I got today.
i Maggie,

Your account has been temporarily suspended for security purposes. Our systems indicate that your Facebook account has been compromised by cybercriminals attempting to impersonate you. These criminals often will try to trick your friends into sending them money by claiming that you are stuck in a far away location and need assistance. It is possible that your email account was compromised as well. As such, we have sent this email to all email accounts recently associated with your account. Obtaining access to a victim’s email is one of the primary ways these cybercriminals have been operating. Please take the following steps to regain control of your account:
1. Select new, unique passwords for any email addresses associated with your Facebook account.
2. Respond to this email to get the account verification process started.
3. Closely follow the instructions provided in our follow up email. We also encourage you to visit the following page for more information about Facebook security and how to report suspicious material:
Facebook Security

I tried to reset my password but it said my account was disabled. I sent 2 emails but from looking on web sites like this one they may not open it back up. I also followed the steps for securing my computer but I had no virus’s or trojans. My main concern is my fish wrangler game. I have spent a ton of money on the game and cant access it now. I only have 95 friends and I emailed my brother and sisters and none got spam or fake messages. I am very SAD tonight. I was in the middle of playing when the disabled my account.

Alex December 9, 2009 at 6:21 pm

I had my account disabled. It took 3 weeks of hassle to get it reactivated. I just wrote a blog about how I got them to reactivate my account. You can try my tactic. Read it here:

Angela December 10, 2009 at 2:11 am

My account just got disable. I am thinking about making a new account but I am just really sad because I have 70 photo albums and I was tagged in 4,000 photos from my friends and I have 1,400 friends.

I am going to email Facebook to get it back, I hope there is hope.

Has this happened to anyone recently and have you gotten your facebook back with everything in it? (photos, friends, groups, etc.)

Hi, about mid way through Thanksgiving Break I tried to log on to my facebook account and they gave me a message that my account had been disabled. I know I did not violate any of the terms of use. It’s been more than two weeks know that my facebook account has been disabled mistakenly it’s still not fixed yet I have contacted the disable team as mansion on the massage I sent email to them several time to but I did not had any reply from facebook disable team yet. My account has been disabled on the 27th December 2009 and still haven been fix’s yet I am still waiting for a reply from the facebook team and to reactivate my facebook account

I’m frustrated, confused and angry

Pilar January 22, 2010 at 11:48 am

They just disabled me for no reason… did they ever reinstate you?

Computerperson February 14, 2010 at 12:50 pm

The basic reason accounts are being continuously dumped on facebook is because the system is completely overloaded now. They have expanded as much as they can, i.e. servers, etc. So those with tons of pics, videos, etc – so they dump accounts. Hence the ‘adding friends too fast’, too many messages in one day warnings. They just can’t handle the volume of activity any more, but will never admit to this.
This is the fix-all for an overloaded facebook.
Other sites do it as well. They do a mass dumping.
It sucks, but that’s the way it is.

My account was disabled 4 days ago. I never received any warning or any reason for disabling my account. If I were reported for any malicious acts, then it would be fair if they could specify the reasons.

I am really pissed off. Sent my follow up message just minutes ago. Hope they would reply soon.

My facebook account has been disabled for four weeks now. I have to admit I violated facebook terms of service. I also admit I posted too much stuff on the wall, sent too many messages on inbox and added too many friends. I am in no way what I did on facebook classified as annoying and abusive. I am hopeful my account gets reinstated. I do not want to lose all the contacts and photos I have made.

That second e-mail is exactly what I got so it is automated and generic. But then you said the last one was the one that said final. You said don’t give up. Did you? What did you do after they said this was final? Because the first two mails they sent me were completely different. 1st said I was misuing their features. 2nd said that my e-mail no longer existed. That means it was compromised or hacked.

So which do you think is the truth and will I get my account back quicker if they see it was hacked? Thank you

Sarjeel April 29, 2010 at 2:58 pm

my beloved facebook account is also Disabled from last 23.04.2010 & i keep on sending msg to them & finally they send me a reply in 26.04.2010 and informed me that they received complain from there users that i was Harrasing them. however meantime i came to know that one of my friends friend ‘Report’ against me & immediately i contact with that person & told him to send a msg from him to the facebook mailing address from where i got the msg of Harrasing and inform them that he is withdrawing his complain against me. he did send a msg to them with a copy to my mailing address. so after that i keep on sending msg to the facebook that as the complainer himself withdraw the complain against me then i hope they can Re-Activate my account where i had more than 500 precious pictures of mine & so many sweet memories (comments etc) i received last 2 years. stil i m sending them msg again & again. dont know when they gonna Re-Activate my beloved facebook account. i m hopefull & will keep on sending msg to them till they do Re-Activate my account. lets see what facebook do with my account as i sincerely appologised to them in all my mails even i did nothing wrong as per there Ruls & Regulation.

Erik May 1, 2010 at 2:15 pm

My account was disabled yesterday (4-30-10) for absolutely no reason and without warning. I did change my middle name to Eyjafjallajökull after the icelandic volcano, but I would be very surprised if that is why they disabled me. In any event, I have sent them numerous emails the last 12 hours detailing how I had done nothing wrong and if the middle name is bothersome, then I would remove it.

In any event, I started a new account and if they give me my old one back I will just delete it I suppose.

Erik May 10, 2010 at 8:49 pm

Hey quick update. I sent an email on May 1st to Facebook. 4 days later I can email back saying that they changed back my middle name (which was the icelandic volcano, Eyjafjallajökull) and that I could have my account back. Moral of the story is read the fine print and facebook has a computer program that checks for stuff, whether it being names or ideas they are watching you….

Radio Station Facebook Page Disabled

for Criticism of Facebook Policies!

On Friday loyal fans looking for Facebook Fan Pages of radio station KNOI Real Talk 997 and KRBR The Rebel’s – received the response “Account has been Disabled”. “Today after posting messages in response to Facebook discussions regarding Facebook’s new Privacy policies I awoke this morning to find our Facebook page disabled without explanation.” says station CEO Leo Ashcraft. The posts consisted of one – two line responses in discussion groups and pressing the like and share button on articles related to Leo Laporte’s (The Tech Guy) decision to delete his own Facebook account in protest of Facebook’s behavior regarding user privacy. “Additionally we pressed the like and share buttons on a few articles regarding their up and coming rival (replacement) Diaspora – We believe that privacy and connectedness do not have to be mutually exclusive.” said Ashcraft. A quote from the offending (to Facebook) website says, “With Diaspora, we are reclaiming our data, securing our social connections, and making it easy to share on your own terms. We think we can replace today’s centralized social web with a more secure and convenient decentralized network. Diaspora will be easy to use, and it will be centered on you instead of a faceless hub. Diaspora was announced earlier this year and requested funding in an “angel” network.” Diaspora designers requested $10,000 from members to aid in designing and launching the new social site. Nearly 6,000 people responded with donations totaling nearly $200,000. This shows the distane that is growing of Facebook members. These are members that have put their money hard earned money up to preserve the social community.
“Facebook could just have easily deleted the posts, “likes” and “shares” but they chose to disable this radio stations account instead. While we feel there is no value in the new Tyrannical Facebook policies, we do feel this is an example of the new Facebook. Your information is clearly not safe on Facebook and they clearly do not have your interests at heart in any way. If you enjoy free speech and privacy, we urge you to protest and delete your Facebook account. We ask that you contact Facebook and let them know how you feel about their recent action. ” said Ashcraft. He urged fans to take action by contacting Facebook as well as deleting their Facebook accounts in protest. “While it seems impossible to find a contact for Facebook – the following email address may work Facebook EmailThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . This is an email address I was corresponding with them a few months ago regarding an attack on our business by a former employee – which they refused to do anything about. ”

Facebook’s action today has caused the Facebook’s pages for KNOI Real Talk Radio, The WARN NET emergency weather system and The Rebel’s pages to disappear. We can no longer disseminate emergency weather information through WARN NET any longer as a result of these actions.

He says he was financially defrauded in addition, “Additionally we were Facebook advertisers and have been defrauded of unused funds paid to Facebook for this purpose. We will be contacting the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General about this criminal activity. ” And urges you to contact the station if you have similarly been defrauded. If you have been defrauded by Facebook, please contact this station.

KNOI announced a campaign about Facebook’s new privacy issues and behavior. “We will be broadcasting a report about this on our radio network and feeding this story to major media outlets worldwide. Please support us in exposing Facebook for the Tyrannical Anti-Social organization that they are and look for a new website devoted to this cause from KNOI.”

hey guys,
well, I didn’t do anything wrong. I just imported my people I know from my hotmail emails to my facebook account using the ” find Friends” Feature, then suddenly, i got 46 friend requests to my account in order to confirm!!!!! I confirmed all the requests, then after some minutes I got my account disabled. I have so many people i love & adore and they always wait for my posts & they really like me. I also have a page created for my city including about 3000 fans & also have a page created for my university in addition to my plenty visited contents & photos. Please, is there a way to get my account back? When we email facebook they send an automated mail that account can’t be reactivated and this decision is final. Is this fair?? .. Thank you I like your site Mr. MAthhew. Great work. Keep it up :)

Saed October 7, 2010 at 6:30 pm

Hi, I’m having the exact same problem, high no. of friends (1900), always active on Facebook, I never violated Terms and policies, still I got disabled with no warnings, also on a weekend :)

Hello, I was disabled a little over 3 weeks ago, I just received this email today.
this is very unfair considering I received NO WARNING, and why cant I defend my self? I hope this is just an error in the system! my facebook was/is my life.

Your account was disabled because it was in violation of Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. Nudity, sexually explicit, and other graphic content is not permitted on Facebook, nor is any content that contains self harm, depicts violence, or attacks an individual or group. In addition, harassing others through unsolicited friend requests or messages is prohibited.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to reactivate your account or respond to your email directly. This decision is final and cannot be appealed. You can visit the Warnings section of the Help Center for more information:

Thank you for contacting Facebook,

The Facebook Team

please help me get my facebook account back thanks.

Ann November 3, 2010 at 12:06 pm

Disabled for two weeks now – fake name. I really hope they’ll reactivate me again.

Keke February 16, 2011 at 5:59 pm

Did you get your account back?

Carla November 17, 2010 at 10:24 am

The same as everyone else. I’m scratching my head–I have no “fake” name. I have twice appealed to their sense of reasoning, but to no avail. I received email from the supposed Facebook Team claiming that they will not reactive my account for that reason. I simply replied, I can’t prove that I am real and my account is real, so I will move on. I don’t know what else to do, so I will do nothing from this point on.

PS. After this fiasco, I’m not sure if I want to “reactivated”. I was content two years before signing onto Facebook, and I will be all right now. If my friends and family need me, they know how to reach me.

Troy January 13, 2011 at 8:31 pm

i hope i can get it back somehow.please help me….

Marianne April 15, 2011 at 12:28 pm

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I have been using facebook for over 6 years now, on the same exact account. I have not faked any of my information, nor have I posted anything that goes against their “rights and responsibilities”. And NONE of my friends know my password…so unless it was a really good hacker, then facebook has some serious problems. I also do not “spam” because the max amount of posts i usually have in a day are about 5. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY WARNINGS EITHER. I am seriously getting agitated because I am a serious facebook addict and have very important contacts on there to get through my daily life and also school. Now i haven’t used facebook for over 3 weeks! I have supported facebook for a long time, and now without warning they give me this kind of s*^%. they need to get better customer service, else Im leaving and going to twitter or something.
