I think it means that "what we need is to love without getting tired" , giving someone unconditional love can be tiring when the person loved isn't giving you anything. But love usually consist of give and take. Therefore, it is not easy to love someone genuinely cause to give is a willing action without hoping anything in return, but we're human, we always expect give and take. That's why mother teresa said what we need is to love without getting tired, because it is not easy when you give and give but take nothing. You must be willing to serve and life for others too. Compassion and empathy as well as gratefulness towards God for even letting u be "alive" at the very moment is a very blessed thing - this is the kind of mindset, the one that have faith towards the work of Jesus Christ, the one who believe God won't fail and God is carrying you even you felt so miserable everyday.

It is not speaking about never becoming tired at all in general. It means to never tire of loving people. To love without getting tired of loving.

Matthew, can you please explain the quote? I really don't get it. How are we supposed to never become tired?

I don't mean to hijack the thread but I did post in the "When Does Human Life Begin" thread. It was a long post; I only mention it because I am interested to hear your response.

My philosophy on life is the paradoxical commandments, not invented but used by Mother Teresa.

I have them printed out, but I don't have them right now. But they consist of things like:

"If you do good, you will be accused of selfish ulterior motives. So good anyway."

"If you love, you will inevitably be left one day heartbroken and rejected (or something like that...you get the drift). Love anyway."

Such a simple philosophy, but ever since I read these commandments that is how I tried to live my life.

Mother Teresa is amazing.
