I think about the future a lot and all of the wonderful life-events I hope to have in it. I think about the past some, too. But we will never actually live in the future. And we will never again live in the past. The future is just an idea. And the past is only a memory or some contribution to our present self.
There is no future after this present moment – there is just another present moment. We can’t escape it. Not in this life. And if we fail to live in the present moment, we could miss out on everything.
This commercial (below) captures the importance of the present moment (and all of the present moments to follow) in a powerful way. Any second could be the second that changes everything. Don’t miss it.

I was watching a Mother Angelica episode on Youtube on this theme just yesterday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__DwM0josJo ; She said the past is gone the future is unborn, we only live in the present; we need to live like Christ now.
