After some discernment, my blog over at the National Catholic Register is going to be primarily about New Media now. Which I am very excited about.
Today I highlighted SQPN and I plan to do the same with other Catholic new media in the future. In fact, I am planning on showcasing and helping promote something else in Catholic new media every Friday on the Register. So let me know when you hear about something new out there worth giving some attention to and helping to promote.
Here’s my rough idea so far for this new media effort on my National Catholic Register blog. Would love your feedback:
Fridays will be “Catholics in New Media” highlighting some part/website/org/movement/aspect of Catholic new media. If anyone thinks of an especially clever title for this instead of “Catholics in New Media”…please let me know.
Thursdays I am going to take some part of Church teaching (including messages from the Pope, etc.) that pertains to new media and try to figure out what it means for us. To get us started, I began a resource list this week of things the Church has to say about new media. Please help me add to it!
Wednesdays…I’m not sure yet. I might leave this flexible which means I will probably just end up bloviating about something that hopefully others will find useful enough to at least start a conversation about regarding Catholic new media. We’ll see.
Anyway, thanks for your continued support. I hope this will be one more of the many great things Catholics can use to unify our efforts online.

That sounds awesome to me Matthew. You and I walk a very similar beat– supporting and celebrating Catholics in new media.
I’ll be sure to send you a copy of my thesis, which will be released March 1. Lots of concepts & Church teaching in there that will (hopefully) help you generate more ideas.
Here’s a group of Catholic children doing their part to move forward new catholic media! Check out the website http://www.navispictures.com to see information on their new movie on St. Bernadette.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions!
Keep up the good work,
Heather
