Quote of the Day: His heart beat in the beating of her heart

Here is a beautiful reminder of how Christ, by his own will, depends on us to carry his love into the world, especially during this season of Advent. And it shows how Mary was the very first, most complete and perfect example for us to follow – as she literally brought Christ to all of us. May we faithfully do for others as she has done for us. Happy Advent!

“By his own will Christ was dependent on Mary during Advent: he was absolutely helpless; he could go nowhere but where she chose to take him; he could not speak; her breathing was his breath; his heart beat in the beating of her heart. Today Christ is dependent upon us. This dependence of Christ lays a great trust upon us. During this tender time of Advent we must carry him in our hearts to wherever he wants to go, and there are many places to which he may never go unless we take him.” – Caryll Houselander

Thank you, Matthew!

That was beautiful! The following are quotations derived from the novel True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis De Montfort:

“The more the Holy Ghost finds Mary, His dear and inseparable spouse, in any soul, the more active and mighty He becomes in producing Jesus Christ in that soul, and that soul in Jesus Christ.”

“True devotion to our Lady is holy, that is, it leads us to avoid sin and to imitate the virtues of Mary. Her ten principal values are: deep humility, lively faith, blind obedience, unceasing prayer, constant self-denial, surpassing purity, ardent love, heroic patience, angelic kindness, and heavenly wisdom.”

May God, the Holy Trinity, with our Holy Mother, the Blessed Virgin of Paradise, abundantly grace and bless you and each of your loved ones to greater interior perfection this Advent!

“Spirit of Jesus, come to me. Enable me to think like Jesus Christ, to will like Jesus Christ, to act and suffer like Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit, fill me wiht a lively interest in my divine Savior, with the desire to please him, the longing to imitate him, the need to resemble him. Grant that Jesus may live in me through Mary. Amen.”–Novena to the Holy Spirit by Brother Daniel Korn, C.Ss.R.
