Catholic New Media Awards should team up with CNMC

I was writing my weekly post on Catholics in New Media on the Register this morning and had an idea.

Today I highlighted the Catholic New Media Awards (formerly the Catholic Blog Awards). And they are in the process of receiving feedback for the 2010 awards. So I was thinking of ideas…

Wouldn’t it be awesome to have a Catholic New Media Awards ceremony at the CNMC  every year? I’m probably not the first person to think of this. But that would be so much fun. And what a perfect partnership.

We could have speeches and trophies (maybe a little Archangel Gabriel with an iPod or something) and whatever else people do at those things. Just sounds like fun. And it would help promote both events that much more. More press. More participation. More promotion of Catholic new media. More good stuff.

What do you guys think?

Sounds logical to me. It would also give some people more motivation to go to the CNMC. It’s hard for me to justify going every year :(

Sounds good to me for the same reason. Working on these NM projects is so expensive (reason: time-money continuum) that it’s hard to make that extra effort…especially since Fr. Corapi is going to be speaking in Texas the very same day as the CNMC in Boston!! Ouch!

I think it would be great to see that kind of collaboration of some kind. And I also think that that kind of recognition / awards ceremony would be a perfect edition to the CNMC.

What a great way to recognize and encourage the community to continue investing in Catholic new media.
